International Academic Exchange to Add Color to the Skills Competition

In order to cooperate with the 2013 National Vocational College Skills Competition "Connie Cup" Urban Rail Transit Operation and Maintenance Competition held in our school, our institute held a series of colorful activities with the skills competition as the core, one of the highlights was to invite experts from home and abroad to hold academic exchange activities.

On the morning of June 19th, Yuri Yakovich, Dean of the Traction and Locomotive Institute of the Far Eastern State Transport University of Russia, Prof. Yuri Kamoria, Prof. Yuri Kamolya attended the opening ceremony of the competition and gave an academic report entitled "Development of Russian Rolling Stock Technology". Vice Rector Liu Shenglong, heads of relevant departments of the Faculty of Transport Management, the Faculty of Power Engineering, the Faculty of Communication and Signals, contestants of the competition, teachers and students of the university attended the lecture.

Professor Yuri introduced the Russian teaching system in the field of transportation, the professional settings and personnel training system of the Far Eastern University of Transportation, the technological development of modern Russian railroad transportation rolling stock, and showed the new technological research results of the researchers of the Far Eastern University of Transportation. Professor Yuri has been engaged in research in the field related to railroad rolling stock and has obtained more than thirty invention patents at home and abroad, and has written three nationwide textbooks. The presentation broadened the international vision of teachers and students, and played an active role in the improvement of teachers' research ability and students' technical skills.

On the afternoon of June 19th, Prof. Liu Zhigang, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Beijing Jiaotong University and supervisor of doctoral students, was invited to give a lecture entitled "Research on Energy-Fed Traction Power Supply Technology for Urban Rail Transit". In the report, Prof. Liu Zhigang introduced his research and achievements in metro traction drive system, metro high-frequency auxiliary inverter and charger, dual power traction drive system, high-speed railroad electric traction system safety prediction and control, etc., especially the functional characteristics, composition and parameters, technical difficulties and technical keys of urban rail transit energy-fed traction power supply device, as well as the benefits of energy saving and emission reduction.
