On the afternoon of Dec. 19th, a presentation on students' study and exchange in Taiwan was held by the Department of International Cooperation (DIC) and the School of Software (SOC) in the Lixing Lecture Hall. The directors of the Department of International Cooperation, the School of Software and some teachers' representatives as well as the second-year students of the School of Software attended the presentation.

At the meeting, Director Wu Baoming of the Department of International Cooperation introduced the cooperation between the College and Longhua University of Science and Technology in Taiwan since the signing of the inter-university cooperation agreement between the two parties in terms of mutual visits and exchanges of teachers and exchange and study of students. Ms. Huang Yun, who is in charge of Taiwan exchange program in the Department of International Cooperation, introduced the general situation of Longhua University of Science and Technology and the semester workshop.

In July 2012, five students and two faculty members who won the provincial-level skills competition were selected to attend the "Creativity, Innovation, Entrepreneurship" summer camp at LHUST in Taiwan. During the three-week camp, Ms. Tang Lihui deeply felt the charm of Longhua's "three creations", the classroom layout that inspired students' unlimited imagination, the teaching method that stimulated students' potential, and the team cohesion and collaboration that was always emphasized, which benefited her in every way. The four-month study and life in Longhua left a deep impression on her: she chose to study the courses she was interested in independently, which made her become a passive learner; she became more confident and active by participating in group discussions and teamwork; and her strong sense of honor of her alma mater motivated her to work hard and strive for excellence in Longhua. After she returned to school, she continued to keep the enterprising spirit and applied these gains to her study life, and achieved the first prize in the "Jiangsu Excellence Cup English Speech Contest" this year.

Finally, Director Zhang of the School of Software summarized the presentation. He hoped that the students could learn from the experience of the two students who went to Taiwan, be bold to "go global", actively participate in inter-campus exchanges and social practice; be good at communicating with teachers to promote teaching and learning; and be positive and confident in understanding the profession and learning it well.
