     On July 11-13, as one of the important supporting activities of the 2023 BRICS Conference of Education Ministers, the 2023 "BRICS Vocational Education Alliance Second Principal Forum" with the theme of "Enhancing Skills for Growth, Development, and Poverty Reduction through Vocational Education and Training" was launched in South Africa. The forum adopts a combination of online and offline methods, focusing on issues of mixed teaching in vocational education, green skills, innovation and entrepreneurship, and school enterprise cooperation that are of common concern to all countries. Leaders and experts from vocational colleges in BRICS countries were invited for in-depth exchanges and discussions.

     Secretary of the Party Committee of our school, He Xingchu, was invited as a guest to attend the conference online and delivered a full English speech under the theme of "Reflection&Action: to Address the Challenge of Employers' Reluctance to WBL".

     Secretary He Xingchu analyzed the fundamental differences in pursuit between enterprises and schools, and proposed that in order to address this challenge, joint efforts from the government, enterprises, and educational institutions are needed. He also shared China's vocational education experience and exploration with representatives from various countries. Firstly, from the perspective of national policies, it was clarified that the Vocational Education Law of the People's Republic of China has provided clear policy guidance and laid a legal foundation for the implementation of the Chinese characteristic apprenticeship system; The second is to introduce from the school level how our school has built the "Five Duals Mode" to ensure the work experience of "synchronized standards, diverse models, job training, and on-the-job success". He concluded that in order to meet the challenges, three points need to be achieved: firstly, introducing incentive policies to reduce employers' risks and increase their willingness; The second is to ensure that students' knowledge matches the on-site needs of the workplace, thereby enhancing the confidence of employers; The third is to jointly establish a school enterprise joint project, maintain close cooperation between employers and schools, and achieve high-quality vocational education.
