International student dormitories are for living and study and therefore should be kept clean, quiet and safe in order to contribute to a pleasant living and study environment. All international students are requested to observe the following regulations:
Article 1 International student dorms are supervised by Students Affairs and managed by School of International Education.
Article 2 Each international student should live in the dorm assigned by the institute. Changing rooms without permission or over-occupying furniture is not allowed.
Article 3 The water、electricity and Internet expenses shall be paid by international students themselves.
Article 4 International students shall check room facilities and sign on list of room facilities if all of them are in good condition when checking in. The facilities shall be compensated according to their prices if they are damaged or lost during the use.
Article 5 International students should not be involved in illegal activities which violate either Chinese law or school regulations. International students should not have missionary activities and religious gathering in the dormitory,and the religious books or goods should not be put in the public place in the dormitory.
Article 6 International students should observe the regulations for visitors and meet guests within the stipulated time. Visiting guest should fill in a visiting sheet, and with the manager’s permission, enter the reception room to meet international students. Guests are not allowed to enter and stay in the dormitory. Violating international student will be criticized, fined and punished severely.
Article 7 Good sanitary and hygiene practices should be maintained at all times both inside and outside the dorms. Passageways should remain unblocked. Piling up in the corridor or scribbling or posting is not permitted. Clothing or other things should not be hung or placed outside the windows and things should not be thrown out the windows. Animals or pets are not allowed in the rooms.
Article 8 Public property should be well cared for. Equipment should not be damaged, dismantled or tampered with in any way. Any damage or missing should be compensated.
Article 9 The institute supplies equipment in each dorm to every international student (desk, chair, bed and bedding, air conditioner etc.) These are under the care of the international student living in the dorm. If any damaged or missing occurred, the international student should pay for it. The international student should return all things in good condition at the end of the semester or after termination of study.
Article 10 Quiet should be maintained in the dorms. International students are not allowed to disturb other’s study or rest, for example, dancing, loud music, late parties, shouting, etc., are forbidden.
Article 11 Smoking and Drinking alcohol in the dorms is forbidden.
Article 12 International students should save water and electricity. Water faucet, light or other facilities should be turned off before leaving the dorms. International students who violate the rules will be fined. Electric cooker, heaters, stoves and other high-power electrical appliances are not allowed. International students who violate the rules should be responsible for any consequence occurred and will receive institute disciplinary penalties.
Article 13 Observe fire regulations all the time. Combustibles and explosive substances are not allowed in the dorms. Fire fighting equipment must be protected and maintained in good order. Every international student should consciously prevent fires.
Article 14 International students should observe the daily schedule of the institute. The international students’ dormitory closes at 10 p.m. If a international student is required to be out later than the time allowed, permission should be obtained beforehand. Not accommodating in dormitory without permission is forbidden. International students who violate the rules should be responsible for any consequence occurred and will receive institute disciplinary penalties.
Article 15 International students of opposite sex are prohibited to live together. “Expelled” is given to those who accommodate the opposite sex. “Warning” is given to international students in the same dorm if not prevent that.
Article 16 International students should be voluntary compliant and cooperative with property managerial personnel to check dorms and count the number of international students. For the occurrence of “night out”, reports should be made to the property management in time.
Article 17 If the electric appliances or circuits in rooms break down, international students shall report to the dormitory administrator. The electrician will be sent for repair and students are strictly prohibited to dismantle or repair by themselves.
Article 18 The power must be disconnected when there is nobody in rooms so as to prevent fire. If fire and other accidents are caused due to the violation of above regulations of power utilization, the person liable shall bear corresponding responsibilities, compensate all losses, receive institute disciplinary penalties and even be prosecuted for his/her criminal liability for serous consequences.
Article 19 International students shall actively participate in the routine check for room conditions and safety organized by the institute and the Students Affairs Department. Students’ daily performance in the dormitory is one important criterion when applying for institute scholarship and awards and attending review of government scholarship.
