The 10th Foreign Language Skills Competition and Cultural Activities Month , which was organized by the School of International Education, came to a successful end on December 8th, with Director Yuan and Zhang  and some teachers attending the award ceremony. Through a variety of  foreign language skills competitions and activities, the event created a strong foreign language learning atmosphere, improved the English language skills of students, and also stimulated students' enthusiasm and passion for learning English.

The theme of this competition and cultural activities month is "Tell the story of NVIRT in English", which lasts about one month. In the speech contest and the speaking skill contest, the contestants told the stories of growing up in on campus with vivid language by combining the theme of the contest and their own experiences, and those who stood out finally represented our college to participate in the provincial competition and achieved excellent results. In the English corner activity, our teacher of English  Mr. Zhang Qiang carried out colorful English games and interactive topics for the students, who actively participated in them and received enthusiastic responses. In the translation competition, the contestants strove to overcome the three difficulties of translation: "faithfulness, elegance, and quality", so that their translations were fluent and fluent, and could convey the cultural meaning. In the English singing contest and the dubbing contest, the contestants were well prepared and strong, and brought an audio-visual feast to the audience and the judges with their beautiful voices and moving interpretations, winning applause and fully showing the youthful vigor of the students of Southern Railway.

In addition, our teacher of English, Mr. Hao Yuan, Korean Miss Pan Wenjiao and teacher of Russia Qian Xiaoli gave lectures on British culture, Korean culture and Russian food culture and interacted with students respectively, which received good results.

Since the launch of the English skill competition and cultural activities month, it has attracted the keen attention of many students, and thousands of people have actively participated in the competitions and activities, which not only provided a stage for the students to show their talents and tell the story of the institute, but also stimulated their enthusiasm to learn foreign languages. May students carry this enthusiasm and brighten up the campus with their talent and style in their future study life, and make unremitting efforts to realize their youthful ideal.
