2023 Admission Brochure for Overseas Students Applying for Nanjing Vocational Institute of Railway Technology

Ⅰ Brief Introduction

Nanjing Vocational Institute of Railway Technology (NIRT), approved by the Government of Jiangsu Province and filed on record in the National Ministry of Education,  is a full-time governmental higher vocational college. Founded in 1941, it locates in the city of Nanjing on the Yangtze River Delta, which is one of the most dynamic and developed regions in China in terms of economy. It’s a national high-quality higher learning vocational college, a construction unit of high- level higher vocational colleges with Chinese characteristics and specialty group approved by the National Ministry of Education.

NIRT has two campuses with an area of 1146 mu (764,000 ㎡), boasting more than 10,000 full time students. The secondary schools in NIRT are School of Transportation Management, School of Communication Signals, School of Locomotive and Car, School of Power Supply and Engineering, School of Finance  and Logistics,  School of Architecture, Art and Design and School of Intelligence Engineering, offers more than 40 majors facing rail transit industry and local economy. NIRT has the leading position of vocational education in the rail transport industry and the first "Metro College" in China. NIRT has the first "Railway Culture Research Center" in China, the Jiangsu Railway Education Center, etc. and it is a national railway science popularization education base.

With the first-class training conditions in China, NIRT’s high-speed railway training base connects the main railway line and trains can be driven into the campus. It is equipped with true high-speed rail equipment which provides the national first-class training conditions with the integrated six systems of high-speed railway. It has become a  "Jiangsu railway personnel training base",  a designated training unit for the China Railway and an international talent training base for the International Association of Transport Universities of Asian-Pacific Countries.

Ⅳ Admission Requirements

1. Students  with high school diploma, and in good health and good character.

2.Students passed the online admission interview of our institute ，or passed HSK test and have the certificate of band 4 or higher; or who have the relevant English level certificate.

3. Majors of railway transportation require applicants to be without color blindness or color weakness,  corrected visual acuity of both eyes more than 4.8.

Ⅴ Registration

1.Application Time: From today until June 20^th , 2023. Registration time: Sept. 1^st, 2023.

2. Notice：

(1)  When applied, students are required to offer materials as follow, and send the electronic texts of these materials to mailbox gjy@njrts.edu.cn. The materials are:

1. One copy of passport;

2. High school diploma;

3. Transcripts during the high school;

4. 2 photos of one-inch front side upper half body without hats;

5. One copy of Admission Application Form;

6. Various relevant certificates;

7. Proof of no crime;

8. Parental power of attorney for minors;

9. Proof of family funds.

   (2) Applicants may also apply online, https://njrts.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx.

(3) If admitted, all students will receive Admission Letter in both Chinese and English issued by NIRT.

(4) Students should enroll on time at the time specified in the admission letter. Those who don't register within one week without valid reasons will lose admission qualification.

Ⅵ Education System, Graduation and Further Study

1. Education System: 3 years (September 2023 -June 2026).

   2.Diploma: those who finish all the credits will get the associate degree in Chinese and English issued by Nanjing Vocational Institute of Railway Technology.

   3.Further study: NIRT will recommend students who are willing and qualified to study at the undergraduate universities in Nanjing and other cities. It will be a 2 more years' study for a    bachelor's degree. The tuition is required according to the standard of the undergraduate         university applied.

    

   Ⅶ Tuition，Scholarship and Other fees

2. Tuition fee: The tuition fee is charged by academic year, the major of liberal art is 4700 RMB / academic year, and 5300 RMB / academic year for science.

   2.Scholarship ：NIRT provides scholarships to qualified students according to their academic and disciplinary performance .

3. Other fees includes:

(1) Students' passport and visa fees will be borne by themselves. Residence permit ¥ 400 for one year , medical examination  about¥ 526 ，insurance premium ¥ 600 for one year ，¥ 450 for HSK Level 4 Examination Fee (these fees might change according to current situation) are provided by the students themselves.

(3) NIRT would take pre-pay textbooks 500 RMB per year from each student. Final payment will be processed based on actual cost.

(4) Students pay for electricity, water and internet bills themselves.

(5) NIRT has four student canteens along with a Halal cafeteria which open all day, and the students need to pay for their meals by themselves. Each student needs living expenses approximately 1000RMB monthly. Other living expenses are at students’ convenience.
