To meet the needs of the rapid development of international education, optimize the study environment, maintain the campus stability, improve the emergency mechanism and guarantee international students’ legitimate rights and interests, Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education of China stipulated and issued Interim Provisions on the Requirement of Insurance Purchase for International Students in Institutions of Higher Education in 2007.On the basis of the interim provisions, NIRT stipulated the following policies in the light of practical situation of the university.
Article 1 International students studying in NIRT for over 6 months (including 6 months) must purchase the group comprehensive insurance prescribed by the university.
Article 2 International students studying in NIRT for less than 6 months can purchase either the group comprehensive insurance prescribed by the university or any other insurance recognized by Insurance Supervising Administration Committee of China which at least contains accidental injury insurance. International students who have bought the latter insurance must present the insurance certificate upon registering.
Article 3 International students who purchase the group comprehensive insurance shall pay the insurance premium when they pay the tuition fee. Students who delay or refuse to pay the insurance premium cannot register in the university.
Article 4 The institute shall purchase the group comprehensive insurance for international students of Jasmine Jiangsu Government Scholarship whose scholarship covers the insurance. Other scholarship students and exchange students have to purchase the insurance at their own expense if the scholarship does not cover it or the agreement does not define the insurance should be paid by the university. Self-supporting students shall pay the insurance premium themselves.
Article 5 Details regarding the comprehensive insurance of international students shall refer to the clauses of Ping An Annuity Insurance Company,LTD.
